"Maybe we could set up a construction company. ChingLiang and Weeleng carry all the stuff, I bulldoze, Jingguo drives. =)"

That may sound good after all, if all of us can't find jobs... =)

Feel like talking about social nite today.. Lol. =)

It's a rather memorable experience for me, since it's ^(infinitely) more fun than the prom nite I had last year, which I regard as a TOTAL failure on the organisers' part. Haha, anyway went to pines at ard 1530 to get all the gifts done, and also to discuss on some of the details for the games. Nothing much after which, mainly doing fatigue work etc. etc.

"Damn, forgot the time le. Needa go home and change and fetch wenting. Hahahha... Alright." Here I go. Took taxi home, which costed 7 bucks -_- Met up with wenting at the amk hub taxi stand, and here we go, to pines. Lol...

The food is nice. The programme is nice. And the prizes must be nice too rite? =P (Note: I chose most of the prizes for the games. Hehehe...) The emcees were great too! (Kudos to Hazmi and Yam, which's the best pair I've ever seen. =D) There were joy and laughter. =)

Colin proposed to his girlfriend that day. Lol.. Damn touching.

"I know the road ahead for us isn't gonna be easy, but I could hug you when you feel tired, wet your lips when you are thirsty, and wipe your face when you cry." -LTA Colin-

Ahha... that could add on to my collection of quotes for my army journal. Hehehe... Back on a serious note, it was really touching, and of course she finally agreed. And all of us cheered! =)Yongliang sang Ge Qian by Jay Chou during social nite. Manx.. my favourite song. Hehhe... Kiss Goodbye too. Weinian rocks too! Hahaha.

Well, everything ended and we took photos! =) Send me photos k? I will seriously miss those days we had. "Once in our lives, 2 years of our time..." Had to pack everything up after the whole event though, which kept wenting waiting. (Felt rather bad about it.. though she told me she didn't mind. =S)

Ended rather late, ard 12 plus. But it was nevertheless a good day.

(Note: btw you look rather stunning that day. =P Hahaha... I do hope something will happen between you and him that nite though. -wink- kk, juz kidding.)

music☆~~
☆end☆~~

Back from camp.

I just realised that I haven't been updating my army journal entries faithfully. Aww well, hmm, I should. Cos there are things which is worth being kept deep in my heart. Alas, 2 more days to the 14th week of service term, and from there, some will go support arms, some going for scholarship stuff, and some medicine. New people are coming in though...

Our platoon's gonna disbanded. This is because almost all of our instructors are leaving, either ORD (like LTA Colin) or posted elsewhere. (Manx, LTA Delson's a good instructor, hope to see him someday when he gets posted.) Bitter-sweet memories... =)

But still, training is still physically wrecking. Damn.. this week is rather hiong.

First day: 7km endurance training run (Ok, fine.. I suppose I can take it, under 35 mins?!?!)

Second day: 8km endurance training run (Ok, heng ah, under 48 mins, brisk walk still can reach ending within time limit. Legs start to ache le... =S)

Third day: Admin time (Nights out to play CS at Jurong Point... =) with YL tan, Kaisiong, Chorseng, Bowen, Samuel and Chunhong)

Fourth day: 6km fast march without stopping (Oh wat $%$$#^&**, it's not about marching eventually as we continued. From fast marching, to very fast marching, and eventually, jogging. -_-")

I survived this week. Thank goodness. Our WSM was giving out extras like phamplets. So basically, guard duties and CDOCDS duties are WELL taken care of.

My legs are still aching though... =/

Alright, dun tok about army le. Well, back to uni application. I suppose I will be rejected the umpteenth time regarding my appeal for a double degree course. Competition is keen, so I suppose I could try next year, but I dunno whether this will deprive me of my place in USP. Oh well, if only USP is a scholarship package itself, that will be good. At least I can study without using my own money. =)

Manx... still feeling a bit sianx though. Maybe the dragon year has proven to be too much for me. Urgh.. I dun like it. But aww well, it's not up to your choice.

Tired.. Going sleep soon. ZzZzZz...

Platoon Field Camp was probably the most tiring, out of the 3 field camps I had during my service term. In fact, it was the field camp that I was the most comprehensive about. Basically, the field camp consists of 2 exercises, i.e. Exercise Scorpionking, and Exercise Spade. In BMTC, I actually spent 5 hours to dig my shellscrape, due to my poor digging skills, and the quality of the soil. Exercise Spade will be a challenge for me, since we had to dig one shellscape, and one trench (which is an enlarged shellscape, of chest level) As comprehensive as I was, I decided that nothing will stop my way though, since I am able to survive for the previous field camps, as some of my friends said were the more tiring ones.

Day 1 was merely rehearsals, namely the platoon harbouring drills, and tactical movement during platoon missions. We actually learnt the various ways of crossing danger areas in a platoon, and also how to deal with situations when we are contacted by enemies from various directions. We also learn how to analyse such situations, such as the size of the enemies, so that we can make informed choices and minimize the number of casualties on our side, and at the same time, ensuring the success of our missions. Lastly, we also learnt the roles of a Platoon Commander and a Platoon Sergeant, and examine their roles in a closer perspective. Basically, a PS job is not as simple as it seems, as it really involves a considerable amount of stamina and physique, and also the ability to cope stress in difficult situations. However, the latter criteria applies more for a PC, and basically as officers-to-be and PCs to be, it is very crucial for us to handle stress in such situations. Well, basically talk is cheap, and only through experience, and more experience, we are then able to improve and transform to become better PCs, in leading our men to complete the missions.

Day 2 was the commencement of Exercise Scorpionking. It was a tough one, as we had to march from the training shed near Mandai Road, to the .85 knoll and execute our deliberate attack missions. Furthermore, we will not be walking tactically along Asrama axis, instead we will be skirting and bashing into the jungle, in Full-Battle Order. This makes the whole trekking rather exciting. It was rather tiring physically and mentally, especially for the point PC. This is because he is mainly responsible in leading one company of soldiers in the jungle, and one wrong decision in his navigation may demoralize his troops, since they are lost. Furthermore, we learnt the importance of following the given timings, as fulfilling the timings are not as easily as it seemed. Basically, we managed to reach our FUPs, and subsequently, executed our platoon deliberate attacks up the knoll, and hence completing our missions, as we occupy the knoll area, and doing our re-org.

Here comes the digging part, Exercise Spade.

Basically, each of us is supposed to dig one shellscape in 45 minutes. The main purpose is to ensure us a basic temporary shelter when there is an unexpected artillery bombardment, reducing unnecessary casualties to the minimum. Furthermore, 2 people have to dig one trench within one night. Basically, we were digging continuously, and there is hardly time for us to rest. However, we were heartened by CPT Seah, who actually took the effort to bring us red-bulls, which perked us up, for more digging. After which, we learnt how to construct a FOPK. FOPK is actually a enhanced form of shelter, consisting wooden poles, groundsheets, and sandbags we made overnight while digging. This is to further protect us from artillery bombardment, while we are hiding in the trenches. We had our defence night missions on Day 3. I am deeply impressed by LTA Kelvin, who did a sneak attack on us from the top of the knoll, and ‘killing’ everyone eventually. His swift and rather silent movement is what we should learn when we execute our exercises and missions, so as to prevent notifying the enemies of our presence.

Basically, I learnt that the roles of a PC is rather challenging, as it really involves the responsibility of not only yourself, but also your troops. However, with the skills we acquired during Platoon Field Camp, it actually laid a foundation on the subsequent new knowledge we will obtain, as we proceed on to professional term next month, and subsequently, to be an officer after commissioning.
